Our Mysore-style self-practice classes run daily Monday to Friday. The Shala opens doors at 6.20 am and we close at 9 am. There is no class on Moondays.
The Mysore-style classes are self-paced and suitable for all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. For new students, Mysore-style class offer the opportunity to move in your own time, slowly integrating new asanas whilst focusing on breath. The teacher’s role is to provide assistance and guidance when needed and add new postures when the student is ready. Verbal cues and physical adjustments will be offered throughout the class.
6:45 AM, FIRST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH
Monthly Led class
The led class is a fully guided class counted in Sanskrit with concise verbal cues, allowing students to learn the count and the flow of the sequence. Unlike Mysore-style classes, it’s more regimented and fast-paced. Unless otherwise stated, the full primary series is counted. Students who have not yet learned all of the primary series are encouraged to stop at their last posture.
Starts at 6.45 am on the first Friday of each month. Doors open at 6.20 am, please arrive in plenty of time to get yourself settled.
Every other month, we hold a conference, either in person or online. This is an opportunity for all Ashtanga Yoga Jersey practitioners to come together. We discuss yoga, philosophy and yogasana. The conference is free and everyone is welcome to attend, both current and prospective students. If you’re new to the Shala, and you’d like to attend, please email Anna.
